How to run piracy apps & plugins on Mac OS
Apple controls its entire ecosystem. On the Mac, even if you don't download an app from the AppStore, but from a developer's site. To run th app on Macs, the developer must get a digital signature from Apple, otherwise it will be impossible to launch the app in the usual way.
Every time you launch a new app on your Mac, Gatekeeper checks to see if it is signed with a valid signature. If the application is signed with a valid signature, it can be started. If this is not the case, you will see a warning message and your Mac will not allow you to launch the app.
To able to run piracy apps, you need to disable Gatekeeper, for that open Terminal, then copy & paste a command below, then tap Enter
sudo spctl --master-disable
But with each new version of the Mac OS, disabling Gatekeeper helps less and less. But there is a way out — you can disable protection for a specific apps and plugins by entering the following command in the terminal:
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine [/Applications/LockedApp.app]
Example
Now we show you a detailed example of how to use the above commands. You have downloaded a dmg container, open it. You probably know that plugins for AE on Mac have the extension *.plugin, and apps have *.app. So in a dmg, a plugin/an app can be in folder or not.
In this example, plugins are at folders, thats why we need to extract a folder from the dmg to any location. In my case it's downloads. If there is just a plugin or an app, jut extract it.
Now open Terminal app and copy following command:
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine
- then tap space key
- drag & drop extrated plugin
- tap Enter key
It asks password and enter it. But when you're typing password you wont see it. Then tap Enter key. Now you're able to run dragged plugin.
and you have to do the same with each cracked plugins or apps if there is more than one.
In this case, ReVision has a lot of plugins at subfolders and you need to do the same with them.
If in your case there is just one or two, you'll do the same with them one by one
After you can put plugins into after effects plugins folder and they will run without any problems
